Pickled Red Onions

If you’re like me and don’t exactly love raw onions, but like the onion flavor and a little crunch, these are for you! Pickled onions are the perfect addition to salads, sandwiches, burgers, and more. They add a slightly sweet and acidic onion flavor, and don’t forget the beautiful pink color. We eat with our eyes first!

This recipe for pickled onions is so quick and easy and adds a perfect depth of flavor to any meal. They appear fancy for very minimal effort! That’s a win-win in my books!

Pickled Onions Recipe

Ingredients:
1 red onion sliced

1 c hot water

1/2 c apple cider vinegar

1 t black peppercorns

2 large pinches of salt

Spoon full of sugar

Directions:
1. Slice one red onion and place in a bowl

2. Add hot water, apple cider vinegar, peppercorns, salt and sugar. Mix well.

3. Let sit 20-30 minutes before enjoying. Store in the refrigerator and use within two weeks.

Add garlic or other spices and herbs to change the flavor profile.
