Easy Peasy Homemade French Bread

Easy peasy homemade French bread is simple, delightful, and can be whipped up in about one hour!

This French bread pairs perfectly alongside soups and stews, made into sandwhiches, and makes delicious French toast! Slice it open and slather it with garlic butter and cheese and toss it under the broiler for delicious homemade cheesy bread!

Add in some cheeses and herbs to make a flavored French bread. Just measure with your heart! And use to make sub sandwiches, Italian Herbs and Cheese, anyone?

But really, easy peasy homemade French bread is just that, super easy, super quick, and super delicious! To be enjoyed any meal of the day!

Easy Peasy Homemade French Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups warm water
1 Tbsp honey
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 Tbsp yeast
3 1/2 – 4 1/2 cups all purpose or bread flour

In a medium bowl, combine water, honey, salt, and yeast and let sit 5-10 min until foamy.

Add flour 1 cup at a time while stirring. When dough gets thick, begin kneading until the rest of the flour is added and dough is no longer sticky and knead until smooth and pliable.

Form into a long skinny loaf or divide in two and form 2 smaller loaves. Place on greased baking sheet and let rise for 15 minutes.

Preheat oven to 425°F while loaf is rising.

Cut slits on top of loaf and bake for 16-20 minutes until golden.
