Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs in The Instant Pot

By: Amber Grangroth

Deviled eggs, egg salad sandwiches, Cobb salad, and potato salad. There are so many ways to enjoy hard-boiled eggs! My boys love to just peel and eat them. I like to sprinkle salt and pepper on a paper towel to dip the egg in.

Eggs are a delicious and nutrient dense snack or meal full of protein, vitamins, and minerals to give you energy and keep you full. They are great to have on hand when you need something quick or the kids need a good snack!

We are still waiting to get eggs from our own chickens. The day we get our first egg will be so exciting! Until then, we will continue to buy eggs from the store. I have never hard-boiled farm fresh eggs, but I will definitely try it out when we have them!

Instant pot hard-boiled eggs are so quick and easy to make! I used to make boiled eggs in a pot on the stove, but ever since I got an instant pot, I haven’t looked back! Have I ever mentioned that I love my Instant pot? It is one of my favorite and most used small kitchen appliances.

They key to getting eggs that are easy to peel is putting them in an ice water bath immediately after cooking. This separates the membrane from the egg inside, which makes them super easy to peel!

Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs in The Instant Pot Recipe

6 – 18 eggs

1 cup warm water

1. Place the rack in the bottom of the instant pot.

2. Place in your eggs, stacking as you go. Avoid letting eggs touch the pot.

3. Pour in one cup of warm water

4. Place lid on instant pot and turn valve to sealing.

5. Press the pressure cook button and set the time for 4 minutes. If you’d like a softer middle do 3 minutes. Turn off the ‘keep warm’ button.

6. While the eggs are cooking, fill a large bowl with ice and water. Make sure to leave space to add your eggs without overflowing it. Don’t skimp on the ice. You want your water COLD!

7. Quick release the seal immediately after it’s done cooking. Gently place the eggs in the ice water, completely submerged to cool quickly. Some eggs may have cracked, that’s okay! They’re still delicious! If I need perfect eggs, I just cook a few extra to ensure I have enough.

8. Once cooled, crack, peel, and enjoy!

9. Store in the fridge.
